Antique French Confit Pot with Green Glaze, 19th Century 9.8" Wooden Farm Tools French Antique Barbotine Majolica PlateA beautiful antique French confit pot with olive green glaze, dating to the late 19th century. Traditionally used in the south west of France for preserving duck or goose confit, these utilitarian pottery vessels were designed with a glazed upper section and unglazed lower body. The porous clay base allowed the pot to be partially buried in cool earth or a cellar floor to help keep the contents preserved. This example features a rich green glaze
